
About Susan E. Haberle, APR
Sue Haberle brought 25 years of communications experience together to form Haberle Communications in 1996. Since then, the company has provided strategic public relations and communications to a variety of organizations, primarily in the health care marketplace.
Prior to forming her own company, Haberle was director of communications at United Hospital, responsible for communications strategies and resources to support the business objectives of United and its East Metro clinics. She also served as a member of the Allina Health System communications team, contributing to the formation of policies and programs for the newly created health care system and parent of United Hospital.
Before that, Haberle was manager of corporate communications for Medtronic, Inc., from 1989-1993, where she was responsible for the financial, corporate, and employee communications of the medical device manufacturer. In 1988, while living in Indianapolis, she was manager of public information for the world’s largest sports medicine organization, the American College of Sports Medicine. From 1970-1987 she was employed by National Car Rental System, Inc., working her way from editor of the company’s publications to director of public relations, responsible for communications activities in support of the company’s four operating divisions.
Haberle holds a B.A. degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and participated in the Minnesota Management Institute – University of Minnesota Executive Development Center. She became an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and has taught a graduate class in internal communications at the University of St. Thomas. She is a past board member of PRSA, the Minnesota Medical Group Management Association, and the Minnesota Health Strategy and Communications Network.
